A single questionnaire for the entire company fleet—ranging from one vehicle to fifty. Compulsory motor third-party liability insurance covers damage to other road users, while Casco insurance covers your own vehicles.
MTPL is mandatory for all vehicles registered in Lithuania, so the question is usually not “whether to ban”, but how to fix the entire fleet at once. Casco is optional — unless required by the leasing contract.
In the case of leasing, the beneficiary in the policy is the leasing company. In the questionnaire, it can be selected from a list or entered manually.
These are two different insurances, often purchased together. The MTPL pays for damages you cause to others. Casco pays for damage to your own car — including when you’re at fault.
| MTPL | Casco | |
|---|---|---|
| Is it mandatory? | Yes, by law | .No, but leasing companies often require it. |
| Whose property is covered? | Other road users’ property; | your own car. |
| Insurance amount | :Statutory | /Based on the car’s market value |
| If you are at fault | , apayout is made to the injured parties | .for you |
| When another driver is at fault | ,the at-fault driver’s insurer pays; | payment can be made immediately. |
| Theft, fire, animals | Not covered | Covered |
The MTPL amounts are established by law. Per traffic accident in Lithuania, regardless of the number of victims: €6,450,000 for personal injury (including non-pecuniary damage) and €1,300,000 for property damage.
This means that the scope of compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (TPVCA) coverage is identical across all insurers—offers differ in price and additional services, not in the coverage itself. Casco coverage limits are not set by law, which is precisely why offers differ significantly in this regard.
Find out more about compulsory insurance on the compulsory insurance page.
Insurance coverage is based on the information you provided when concluding the contract. If the vehicle is used in a manner other than declared, the insurer may reduce the payout or refuse to pay it. This is particularly relevant for a fleet, as some vehicles may be used differently from the others.
It is sufficient for at least one vehicle from the fleet to be used in this way. Standard terms do not cover such usage.
Territory — four options. The questionnaire offers the following choices: Lithuania only; EU and EEA countries; geographical Europe excluding the United Kingdom; geographical Europe including the United Kingdom.
The MTPL concluded in Lithuania is valid in all countries of the European Economic Area. A green card may be required for travel outside the EEA. The United Kingdom is singled out because some insurers require you to report travel to countries where traffic flows in the opposite direction.
Coverage does not apply when damage is caused by a gross violation of traffic regulations or conditions of use. Also excluded are matters falling under risks other than traffic-related ones.
Regreso teisė. Even when the insurer compensates victims for damages under compulsory motor third-party liability insurance, it has the right to recover the amount from the at-fault party—for instance, if the driver was intoxicated or unlicensed. In such cases, the protection benefits the victims rather than you, and the cost falls on the company or the driver.
For fleet insurance, the price is calculated separately for each vehicle, but the overall fleet profile—particularly the claims history—is also taken into account.
Decisions regarding the fleet are made for groups of vehicles rather than individual ones; therefore, it is worth considering in advance what applies to the entire fleet and what applies to only a portion of it.
You do not specify the deductible in the questionnaire – it is agreed with insurers when preparing offers. This is one of the most important parameters when comparing offers, as a different deduction can explain the entire price difference.
We will retrieve the company name, address, and NACE code from the Centre of Registers—you simply need to enter the company code. It is useful to have the following ready in advance:
Up to 50 vehicles can be listed in a single questionnaire. The security system can be assigned to all of them at once, so processing a fleet of ten cars takes little longer than processing just one.
Transport insurance covers the vehicles themselves. These products cover the goods being transported or the equipment operating in conjunction with the vehicles.
Fill out one questionnaire — you will receive offers for the entire fleet from the main Lithuanian insurers and you will be able to harmonize the dates of the contracts.
We store and use your data solely for the purpose of preparing a proposal.
